About

I'm Tash and I'm the sole owner of The Greenwich Tea Company. I've lived in Greenwich all my life and I love it here. Even my numberplate is SE10 TEA. With a background in graphic design and swimming teaching, my life was worlds away from running a tea business.
I'm a qualified
UK Tea Champion and have studied The History and Etiquette of Afternoon Tea. These extensive studies have helped me develop a better understanding in the delicate process of tea picking, to creating the perfect cup of tea.

My mum and dad are huge tea drinkers. Not the herbal or infusion blends, but good old fashioned teapot tea. If your ever given a cup of tea at their house remember to leave a bit in the bottom of your cup or you'll get a mouthful of tea leaves! Their kitchen holds tea tins from around the world and the tea they drink is stored in a traditional wooden tea caddy. Poured from a teapot and drunk out of mismatched mugs, it's a ritual that happens throughout the day. Even my dog sits on a chair and waits for his cup.

Our teas are sourced from around the world but are blended in the South East of England specifically for us. We have traditional teas, herbal infusions, and then my favourites, the sweet blends, based on my favourite childhood sweets. And we can't forget Nannie Dee, a Chinese black tea named after the figurehead of the Cutty Sark.
The Royal Borough of Greenwich
is brewing with history and on each of our boxes you'll find a short fact about a place in Greenwich. Go to our History page to read more.

You'll also be pleased to know that our
teabags are made of sugar cane and other plant derived materials and are biodegradable. The inner cellulose bag is home compostable and the carton box is fully recyclable.

A lot of love, time and effort has gone into creating our brand and blends, and I really hope you enjoy them as much as I do. So, sit down, put your feet up and have a cup of tea.

Check out our online shop to purchase our current blends and keep checking back for our new additions.
Plus, if you live in the Royal Borough of Greenwich you'll receive free delivery via the tea-mobile (SE10 TEA).
